Pitigliano, in Tuscany. The village is known as the Little Jerusalem of Italy because it has been home to the Jewish community since the 16th century. Over the years, many Jews have settled here and made it their ideal place to write their history. When wandering through the village, visitors can indulge in the many dishes of Kosher tradition or visit the synagogue, which was built in 1598.
Its aqueduct – the strong point of the village – was built in 1639 and is decorated with arches and earth colors.
The Historic Center, with the beautiful Palazzo dei Conti Orsini, (Count Orsini) is the symbol of the town. Documents emphasize the year of foundation of this building, which dates back to the year 1000 with its primary use dedicated to the convent and then as the traditional residence of the Orsini family.
