Turin: The Magic City

The city of Turin has been linked to legends concerning esoteric cults of white and black magic, earning it the nickname “the Magical City.”

The magic of Turin is to discover the most unusual and secret sides of the city, related to the world of esotericism and Freemasonry. Beautiful Turin, joined by Lyon and Prague, is one of the three cities on the so-called “white magic axis” as well as one of the three on the “black magic axis”, along with London and San Francisco.

The magic of Turin continues with the Rondò della Forca and Piazza Solferino, where the Fountain of the Four Seasons is located, whose figures have been considered by the Catholic Church as images of Masonic inspiration.

The surrounding streets are mainly occupied by banks, and the buildings located in this area of the city, especially those in Via Alfieri, are characterized by esoteric symbols. Of particular interest is the Devil’s Palace, previously the headquarters of the Tarot Factory, which currently houses the Banca Nazionale del Lavoro.

The nickname is due to the name of its gate which is known as the Devil’s Door. The door owes its name to the bronze knocker representing Satan with horns and a wide-open mouth with two snakes inside.

According to popular belief, the Devil’s Door appeared on a night when a sorcerer practicing the magical arts invoked Satan. The latter, annoyed by the call, imprisoned him for eternity inside the door.

About the “white” part of the magic of Turin, in Piazza San Carlo, there is a statue depicting the Madonna and the Holy Shroud. Passing through Piazza Castello, we arrive to Piazza Vittorio. Here, in front of the Church of the Great Mother of God, stands the statue of the king Vittorio Emanuele I, whose direction, as legend has it, indicates the place where the Holy Grail is hidden.
